How To Fix An Interior Door Knob

Interior door knobs can become loose or damaged over time, making it difficult to open or close the door properly. Fortunately, fixing an interior door knob is a relatively simple task that can be completed in a few minutes with the right tools and materials.

Before you begin, gather the following tools and materials:

Phillips head screwdriver
Flat head screwdriver
New interior door knob
Two screws

Once you have your tools and materials, follow these steps to fix your interior door knob:

1. Remove the old door knob

Start by removing the two screws that hold the door knob in place. The screws are usually located on the inside of the door, near the edge of the knob. Once the screws are removed, gently pull the door knob off the door.

2. Remove the latch

Once the door knob is removed, you will need to remove the latch. The latch is the metal piece that extends from the door into the door frame. To remove the latch, simply unscrew the two screws that hold it in place.

3. Install the new latch

Take the new latch and line it up with the holes in the door. Insert the screws and tighten them until the latch is securely in place.

4. Install the new door knob

Now it's time to install the new door knob. Take the door knob and insert it into the hole in the door. Line up the holes in the door knob with the holes in the latch and insert the screws. Tighten the screws until the door knob is securely in place.

5. Test the door knob
